Four days?? FOUR DAYS?? How is that possible? I can't wrap my brain around the fact that on Friday, I will drive to Boston and that will be that. No more long distance relationship. It's amazing!
Things have been.....crazy since the last post. I have not been particularly proud of the way I have been acting - crying for no reason, getting mad at and otherwise being not nice to people who go out of their way to make my life a shinier, happier place. To these people (Justin, Rachelle, and Margaret!), I publicly apologize and beg for your forgiveness. I've been a jerk, but I promise I will only get better!
The bachelorette party was wonderful! Nicole, Rachelle, Margaret, Sarah, Rebecca and Ayla, you guys gave me an awesome night to remember! And Erica, so did you, and I wish you had been there to share it! Everyone was so great, and random people were so lovely, wishing me good luck and congratulating me. One guy even stopped us in the street to take a picture with the bride. If you've seen any of the pictures, then you know we had a blast!
My apartment is almost entirely packed up. This is evident by the fact trying to do many things has become impossible or inconvenient. I have no microwave, very few dishes, and all my pantry food is packed in a box that I, of course, taped shut. I've chosen four more outfits for my last days in Poughkeepsie, which are jam packed with school related events - 8th grade awards tomorrow, barbecue on Wednesday, board meeting (yay, tenure!) on Wednesday night, and the field trip to Six Flags on Thursday. Kim Messick, it is obvious how much I love you - don't you forget it!
Thursday night, I will pick Justin up from the train station, and Friday will be one of the longer days of our lives - school in the morning, then lunch with teacher friends, then home to figure out what to with my stuff that no one wants (including us), and eventually pack up the truck with the remaining stuff that we do want and drive the truck and my car up to Boston. Like I said, amazing, and right now only minimally believable!
Since I'm in disbelief, it's hard to say what I think living with Justin will be like. I've always known it will be awesome, and there will be lots of laughing and other silly things. I know we have a tough few days and weeks ahead as we figure out whose stuff goes where - now that it's OUR stuff! - and I adjust to not having a job and not knowing when I will have one again! Boston friends, this is your time to shine! I'm looking forward to more time with all of you! And New York friends, COME VISIT!! We have a super cute guest room! :)
And so, in summation, things are amazing, crazy, and unbelievable. I'll be taking deep breaths, wherever I am, and letting you know how it all goes early next week!
Happy Birthday, Donna! :)
